It’s that time again – dinnertime! The time of day when most families are able to sit own and have a nice meal together. If you’re like many parents with special needs children, this can be a very stressful time. You notice your son or daughter didn’t eat the lunch so you assume he or she would be ravenous by now. The only problem is he or she just won’t eat. You feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing works. By now you feel like giving up! Food and money are literally going down the drain and you don’t know if your child is getting all of the essential nutrients he or she needs.

If you can relate to any or all of this. there is a wonderful solution. Your pocketbook will thank you, mealtime will be a breeze and you will have a happy child with a full belly. Even better, you’ll no longer have to wonder whether your child is missing valuable nutrients.

A few years ago the mother of one of my patients was at her wit’s end with her son’s feedings. Everything this little guy ate (or didn’t eat) seemed to cause a problem. The solution I helped Mom with was first to figure out what her son liked and didn’t like. Then it was time to get creative with food. I assure you the possibilities are endless here. A therapeutic multivitamin for basic support was also recommended. Then came food allergy and sensitivity testing. After a couple of months of dietary tweaking, Mom was amazed (and relieved) to know her child actually enjoyed eating!
